Mysore is a city with long history and its tradition goes up to the Vedic age. It was theNagarz’ of Mahishasura, and the Mahishasurapuri became Mysore. Chamundi is the

traditionally acclaimed Goddess of the City. The city was the political capital of Kamataka. and later the capital shifted to Bengaluru. Mysore was under the Wodayar Dynasty for centuries and

the rulers still in the city with the honor of their reign. Presently Mysore (Mysuru) is the largest tourist attraction of South India and one of India’s educational Hubs.

Even the pebbles of the Sreerangapattana speak you the history. It was the historic tribute of Hyder Ali and TippuSutlan. The place will attract you with the remains of Tippu’s reign.

Ranganathittu is a bird sanctuary situates near to Mysore. The place is identified by Salim Ali, our great ornithologist.

Halebidmeans Old City. It is the city of Hoysala Kingdom. The only one sculpture park of South India is at Halebid. The remains of the golden age of art and sculpture under Hoysala rulers will make us speechless. It is difficult to draw in paper such works that done by the artists on rocks. The star temples of Halebid and Belur are such wonderful sights that an Indian must see at least once in the life.

One of the largest single stone statues in India is the great Gomadeswara statue at SravenBelgola. SravenBelgola was under Krishna Devaraya and his ancestors for a long time. The place is a live center of Digambara Jams. The expedition to the hill itself will be a wonderful experience to the explorers.
